John Steinbeck Adventure!!!
For four days in June, the Hobart Shakespeareans got closer to John Steinbeck.
On their way to Salinas and Monterey, the kids stopped by Hearst Castle. After their Citizen Kane experience, the scholars spent a day at the John Steinbeck Center in Salinas, thrilled to connect with the spectacular exhibits highlighting characters and words they have come to know so well.

Entering the Steinbeck Exhibit in Salinas
After finishing Steinbeck's masterpiece Cannery Row, the children made a pilgrimage to Doc's Lab.
They also visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and even piloted a 65-foot sailboat into Monterey Bay while working with the Aquarium's environmentalists. It was a glorious adventure.
